The main goal of Nitzan's Arab Teacher Training Project is to provide educators in Israel's Arab sector with specialized training in the field of learning disabilities so that these educators can better address the needs of Arab students. Unfortunately, many talented Arab educators cannot afford to pay for their training. This unique project therefore offers Arab educators a heavily subsidized opportunity to enroll in Nitzan's professional training programs. Training for Arab teachers is provided entirely in the Arabic language. As with our Hebrew programs, the course of study is for a two-year period and participants must hold a BA in education and have at least 5 years of experience in working with children and adults with special needs.

The Arab Teacher Training Project improves the quality of education in Israel's Arab sector as Arab educators learn to diagnose and educate children with learning disabilities. By increasing and improving the quality of experts in the field of learning disabilities in the Arab sector, the project benefits thousands of children. It puts an end to the cycle of neglect, long characteristic in education of Israel's Arab children with learning disabilities.
Nitzan believes that by opening the doors for Arab educational professionals and encouraging them to become knowledgeable and qualified in the field of learning disabilities, a long lasting partnership can be created. In addition to helping children in Israel's Arab schools, the project is enhancing professional and interpersonal relationships for future cooperation between Israel's Jewish and the Arab sectors.
