Dr. Maly DaninoDr. Maly Danino

Dr.Maly Danino, Executive Director of Nitzan -The Israeli Association for Children & Adults with Learning Disabilities.

Founder of the Learning Disabilities Unit at the Israeli Ministry of Education. Dr. Danino is also a lecturer of Public Policy and Advocacy for graduate students at Haifa University in the Department of Learning Disabilities and a PhD graduate of Haifa University from the Department of Counseling and Human Development. The Ph.D dissertation of Maly Danino focuses on the support that parents to children with learning disabilities get. The research compares parental group counseling verses coaching for individuals or couples and investigates which methods are more effective for different parents. Dr. Danino trains the parental coaches of these intervention programs according to a method that she developed at Nitzan and has become a leader in the field of parental coaching.

Work Experience:

2003 – Present: Executive Director of Nitzan, the Israeli National Association for the Advancement of Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities. 2005 – Present: Facilitating Parents Groups and training professionals in working with parents and children with learning disabilities.

2003 – 2010: Teaching a Masters Degree course in Learning Disabilities at the University of Haifa.

1999 - 2003: Founder and director of the Learning Disabilities Unit of Psychological Services of the Ministry of Education.                                               

1991 – 1999: Principal, Hasharon High School for students with   learning disabilities. Teaching Entrepreneurship, "Modern Confrontation with Initiatives and Innovations in Education and Teaching" at the Teachers Advanced Study Center of Bar Ilan University. Organizational Consultant at educational institutions: Farkoff High School in Or Yehuda and Amal Aleph High School in Petach Tikva. Teaching at Derby University in the Graduate Management Program (Education and Business). Teaching at Open University in Management and Marketing for Students of Economics and Administration. Member of the Entrepreneurship Syllabus Planning Committee for the Syllabus Planning Dept. of the Ministry of Education.

1977 – 1990: Educational Counselor at various schools, and supervisor of educational counselors in the Southern District.
